Objectives:
CALD-Secretariat and member parties undertake a critical
review of existing communication practices
(internal/external)
Best practices in the field of offline and
online-communication are presented by professional experts.
These practices are evaluated as to their relevance in the
context of CALD and member parties.
The strategic planning technique is introduced.
The workshop develops strategic recommendations to be
presented to the leadership of CALD for approval and
implementation.
Target groups:
All members of CALD Secretariat in Manila
Communication officers and individuals in charge of media
relations and campaigns in member parties. All participants
must have first hand and practical experience in political
communication.
The minimum number of participants is ten (plus resource
persons and facilitator).
Facilitator and resource persons:
Dr. Ronald Meinardus will be the overall facilitator,
assisted by CALD Executive Director John Coronel.
Experienced resource persons will be engaged for at least
two inputs.
Publication:
A manual with the papers and abstracts will be published
after the workshop. This manual will give political
practitioners and other activists an overview of the most
important instruments of political communication and their
relevance in the Asian setting. The manual will be made
available online first on the CALD-website. A hard-copy
version of the manual may be considered at a later stage.

The workshop will be conducted at the Ipil Room, 2nd
