Arjun Narasingha KC

Mr. Arjun Narasingha KC is a central committee member and spokesperson of the Nepali Congress Party (NC).  He was the party's chief of the International Wing before he was appointed the party spokesperson in 2001.  Mr. KC was elected as a member of parliament in the 1991 and 1994 parliamentary elections.  He also was Minister for Health and Education from 1995 to 1999.  He earned his Master's Degree in political science and also taught political science at Tribhuvan University in Nepal before joining politics.  Mr. KC was a participant in the first regional political party conference in Bangkok in January 2002.
 
Kedar B. KHADKA
 
Mr. Kedar B. Khadka is a journalist by profession and a well-known radio and TV broadcaster.  He now serves as program coordinator of Pro-Public, a NGO focused on fighting corruption.  Mr. Khadka airs a weekly radio show on the topic of corruption and has formed "Good Governance Listener's Groups,” groups of civic-minded individuals across the country who organize and network through the weekly broadcast.  Pro-Public also organizes public hearings on controversial issues, with members of the public and public officials participating.  Mr. Khadka obtained a post-graduate degree in sociology/anthropology and Bachelor’s Degree in communications from Tribhuvan University in Nepal.  
 
Jhala Nath KHANAL

Mr. Jhala Nath Khanal is a central committee member of the Communist Party of Nepal-United Marxist-Leninists (CPN-UML).  He manages the foreign relations wing of the party and was formerly the general secretary of the party.  He was one of the ministers during the interim government of 1990, following the restoration of democracy in the country.  Mr. Khanal also became the Information and Communications Minister in 1997.  Mr. Khanal completed his studies in political science and history at Tribhuvan University in Nepal.  Mr. Khanal was a participant in the first regional political party conference in Bangkok in January 2002.
 
Sagar S.J.B. RANA
 
Mr. Sagar S.J.B. Rana is a central committee member and the head of the international wing of the Nepali Congress Democratic party.  This party was formed last year after a split within the then-ruling party, the Nepali Congress, over the issue of dissolution of parliament.  Mr. Rana has been actively involved in politics since 1970.  Mr. Rana earned his Master’s Degree in jurisprudence from Worecester College at the University of Oxford. 
 
Yaggyajit SHAH
 
Hon. Yaggyajit Shah was elected to his first term as a member of parliament in 1999, representing the Nepal Sadbhawana Party, the forth-largest party in parliament.  Hon. Shah worked in the State Affairs Committee, the committee responsible for the establishment of anti-corruption constitutional watchdog bodies, such as the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and the Election Commission General Administration.  He is a graduate from Tribhuvan University in Nepal.  Hon. Shah was a participant in the first regional political party conference in Bangkok in January 2002.
