Luky Djunjardi DJANI

Mr. Luky Djuniardi Djani is the vice coordinator of
Indonesia Corruption Watch’s (ICW) Working Committee. He
coordinates ICW’s advocacy program on public sector
reform, focusing specifically on improving public
services. He also oversees ICW’s efforts to monitor
foreign aid programs and the judicial system. Previously,
Mr. Djani was the Indonesian Rectors Forum’s program
coordinator responsible for coordinating a monitoring
program on East Timor’s popular consultation ballot
process. He is a member of various coalitions, including
Electoral Reform, Right to Information, Participatory
Policy-making, and Election Commission Watch. Mr. Djani
received a Bachelor’s Degree in geodetic engineering in
Indonesia and graduated from the Public Policy Program of
the National University of Singapore.

Husnan Bey FANANIE

Mr. Husnan Bey Fananie is secretary of the Board of
Experts in the United Development Party (PPP). He manages
PPP’s activities related to promoting the party’s values,
philosophy, and principles. At present, he is one of the
personal assistants of Indonesian Vice President H. Hamzah
Haz. Before joining the party, Mr. Fananie was completing
his Master’s Degree at Rijksuniversiteit Leiden (Leiden
University) in the Netherlands in sociology, anthropology,
and ASEAN and Indonesian studies. Mr. Fananie was a
participant in the first NDI-CALD regional political party
workshop in January 2002.

Freddy HARRIS

Professor Freddy Harris is a lecturer in the economic law
department at the faculty of law of the University of
Indonesia, where he is also director of the Institute for
Capital Market and Financial Policy. Professor Harris
also serves as a judge on the Trade Mark Appeal
Commission, Directorate of Intellectual Property Rights,
at the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights. Professor
Harris is on the Board of Experts, Law, Regulation, and
Human Rights of Golkar Party and is a member of the
party’s Legal Aid Committee. He was part of a special
course for the “Forming of Cadres” of Golkar Party in
1995. Professor Harris earned his Bachelor’s Degree in
law at the
University
of
Indonesia
and his Master’s Degree in law (LLM) at Rijks Universiteit
Groningen of The Netherlands. He is also currently in a
doctorate program in law at the
University
of
Indonesia.
Professor Harris has written numerous papers and books on
legal, human rights, and environmental issues.

Luthfi Hasan ISHAQ

Mr. Luthfi Hasan Ishaq is one of the founders of the
Justice Party and is a member of the Justice Party’s
Majlis Syuro (consultative board). He manages treasury
and finance for the Central Board of the party and is
supervisor of national budgeting for the party. Before
joining the party, Mr. Ishaq was completing his Master’s
Degree at Punjab University in Lahore, Pakistan in Islamic
studies. Mr. Ishaq was a participant in the first
NDI-CALD regional political party workshop in January
2002.

Alvin Ling Piao LIE

Hon. Alvin Ling Piao Lie is a member of parliament from
the Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN), or the National Mandate
Party. He serves as one of the deputy chairpersons of the
reform faction and is a member of the parliamentary
Commission Five, which oversees trade and industry,
cooperatives, SME’s, and state-owned enterprises. Hon.
Lie is also the deputy secretary-general of PAN. He is a
graduate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and
Strathclyde University in the United Kingdom. Hon. Lie
was a participant in the first NDI-CALD regional political
party workshop in January 2002.

Abdul Wahid MAKTUB

Dr. Abdul Wahid Maktub is the chairman of Foreign Affairs
Department representing the Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB)
Party. He is also the special advisor to the general
chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the largest Muslim
social organization in Indonesia. He is a partner in
Adnan and Sholeh law firm. From 2001 to 2002, he served
as Consul-General of
Indonesia
in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Maktub earned his
Dokterandus (1992) and Bachelor’s Degree (1985) in
international relations from Gadjah Mada University (Yogjakarta),
where he was named the “Outstanding Graduate” in 1985.
The IIFWP (Inter-Religious and International Federations
for World Peace) honored him with the Ambassador for Peace
Award in New York in 2001.
