Name of Intern: Tee Yen Yen
-
Country: Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia
- Internship
period: 2 October 2006 – 29 October 2006
Suggestions for Future Interns
- The future interns
should communicate with the person in charged of the internship programme
on which the interns would like to assign with before report to the
European Parliament.
- The interns should
first study the responsibilities and tasks of the committee that they
would be assigned to. My personal view is that the intern is advisable to
be assigned to the committee that he/she is interested or with similar
knowledge/ experience in his/her organization in their home country. By
doing so, may be they can contribute constructive ideas to the group or
implement the good practices learnt in parliament to their organization
reciprocally.
- Interns are advisable
to visit the ALDE group website
www.alde.eu to get a better picture on how the group is working as
well as the roles and responsibilities of ALDE.
-
www.europarl.europa.eu
is an useful website that the interns should not miss prior or during
his/her stay in Brussels and Strasbourg.
- Interns are advisable
to refer to the screen of the meeting (TV installed at every corner in EP)
on daily basis. All the meetings to be held in the EP will be published
with the details of time and venue.
- Interns may refer to
the stagiaire’s (interns) list for getting to know the other stagiaires.
Try to mix around and to obtain information.
- Interns may take
his/her own initiative to attend the meetings that he/she interested
irregardless of the committees. Generally the interns are free and welcome
to take part in any committees meeting.
