Suggestions for Future Interns

This internship program is a very rewarding and a longer-term political opportunity. It should be worked on for the future generation of liberals and democrats of Asia.

The below texts are my suggestions for future interns.

The interns should know what he/she wants to learn in the EP before traveling to the EP. Interns should pick an issue and choose the committee to work with. Interns should discuss with ALDE' group and its policy advisors their interests and possible project assignments in the EP.

Interns should draft individual study plans and tasks, and should attend meetings as many as possible. Interns should not forget to use the library in the parliament.

Intern should spend more time, not only three weeks, which is not enough time to learn in the EP. Intern period should be 2 to 3 months. Interns should discuss with policy advisors and MEPs concerning issues and interesting topics.

Interns should be fluent in English or French. Knowledge of other European languages, such as German and Italian, would also be very useful.

Interns should join the EP-Stagiaire(Intern) email list and should look at the "Screen" everyday because all meetings, hearings, plenary sessions are on the TV which are stationed at every corner of the EP.

Interns should read some papers before attending the meetings and hearing and plenary sessions. As a result, one can follow the issues and agendas. Some topics are 2 and 3 months old.

Intern should not forget to attend experts meetings and hearings; these meetings are educational opportunity for intern's future lifelong learning.

Intern should hang out around Europe if one has enough time and resources with other interns in order to get knowledge of real politics, geopolitical issues and regional situations in the ground.
