Mr. Santos is the Media Relations Consultant of the

experience as a journalist prior to his entry to

of Sri Lanka. He was recently tasked as administrator of
their website. In the government he served as Deputy Mayor
of the Rathnapura Municipal Council. He has been a member

seasoned journalist she was previously employed under the
Metro Desk of Nanyang Siang Pao, a news daily in, Malaysia
and the BERNAMA or the Malaysia News Agency. She received
her Advanced Diploma in Mas Communications from the Tunku
Adbul Rahman College in Kuala Lumpur (2000) and BA (Hons)
in Media Communications (Journalism) from the Sheffield
Hallam University in the UK (2002). In 2004 she also
attended the International Academy for Leadership seminar
on Freedom of the Press and Freedom of Information in
Gummersbach, Germany.

In 2004, he founded a movement, Constitutional Amendments
Campaign for Singapore, political reform towards a true
Republic of Singapore. He is currently engaged by his own
company, Yap MultiMedia Film and Digital Video Industries.
He was previously employed in Bay Area of California,
Florida and in other Asian countries and ran a seed R&D
company at the Singapore Science Park. Since 2005, he also
took part in ARDA and WFDA activities and conducted the
web based surveys such as the Asia Democracy Index.

2005. Within the SDP, he helps in production the SDP

in South Korea for nearly six years, where he also taught
at Hanyang University. A former journalist, Dr. Meinardus
writes political commentaries for media in Asia and
Europe. He received his journalistic training at Radio
Deutsche Welle, where he worked in different departments.
He left the German broadcasting corporation in 1992 after

Berlin. He joined the German Foundation for International
Development (DSE) in 1995 as Programme Officer in the
Public Administration Promotion Center and later the
Social and Economic Development Center. In 1999, Mr.
Heufers joined the Friedrich Naumann Foundation’s Regional
Office for East and Southeast Asia as Project Director. He
takes responsibility for the programmes of the Foundation
in Malaysia and for advising the Foundation on matters
concerning the People’s Republic of China.

Since 1998 he has been a Regional Research and
Communications Manager at the Friedrich Naumann
Foundation's Regional Office based in Thailand. In
September 1999 he published Self-Censorship: Singapore's
Shame that lead to the evolution of his
sole-proprietorship Think Centre (Singapore) <www.thinkcentre.org>
into human rights NGO. He also co-founded Think Centre
(Asia) <www.thinkcentreasia.org> in Bangkok in 2001 and
stepped down as its chairman in 2002. For his use of the
Internet for political communication and mobilizing
people, he was identified separately at various times in
2001 as one of "Asia's 50 most powerful communicators" by
Asiaweek, "An Asian Trailblazer" by Newsweek and an "Asian
Making a Difference" by the Far Eastern Economic Review.
His second book, Internet Politics: Surveillance &
Intimidation in Singapore was released in 2002. Mr. Gomez
is currently pursuing his PhD at the Monash Asia Institute
in Australia. He completed his MA in Politics from the
University of Essex, England in 1994 and his undergraduate
studies from the National University of Singapore.

Dr. Busarin Dusadeeisariyawong has been a Programme
Officer Malaysia at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation since
April 2004. She obtained her PhD in International

Politics at the University College of Wales at Aberystwyth,
UK in 1993 and her first degree from Bangkok University.

Mr. Roderick Chia is the Editorial and Research Assistant
of the FNF Regional Office in Bangkok. A Communications
Studies graduate from the Auckland University of

World Wide Fund for Nature. His past work engagements

resources management at the Asian Development Bank and
Ayala Corporation respectively. He studied at DLSU-College
of Saint Benilde, De La Salle University-Manila and the
Fribourg Summer School of the University of Fribourg in
Switzerland.
