Manila) Liberal Party President and Chairman of the Council of
Asian Liberals & Democrats (CALD), Senator Franklin Drilon, met
today a high level delegation of Spanish senators and diplomats
at the LP Headquarters in Makati City, Metro Manila.
The
delegation was composed of six senators, namely: Hon. Jose
Manuel BARQUERO Vazquez and Hon. Juan Jose ORTIZ Perez of the
Popular Party, Hon. Segundo BRU Parra and Hon. Juan Antonio
BARRANCO Gallardo of the Socialist Party, Hon. Ramon COMPANYS I
Sanfeliu of the Catalonian Convergence Party, and, Hon. Jose
MENDOZA Cabrera of the Canary Islands Coalition Party.
They were
accompanied by two diplomats, Their Excellencies Augustin SANTOS
Maraver and Miguel DE LUCAS.
Senator
Drilon briefed the delegation on the Liberal Party and its
involvement in the 2007 Philippine elections and the concerns of
the party regarding elections-related problems. A forum followed
Senator Drilon’s presentation.
Also present
during the meeting were Ms. Concepcion Asis, LP Director
General; Mr. John Joseph S. Coronel, CALD Executive Director;
and, Mr. Lambert Ramirez, Executive Director of the National
Institute for Policy Studies. |
